Carpetcare Maintenance Hints

1. Always utilize walk-off matting inside and outside. Keep them clean and functionable.
   
2. Use a commercial grade vacuum and use it OFTEN!
   
3. Where foot traffic converges is high traffic and most often where spots occur.
   
4. Lighter colored carpeting will require more attention.
   
5. Areas that are frequently chemical cleaned must be rinsed periodically (water only extracted).
   
6. Areas leading from concrete should be vacuumed more frequently.
   
7. Closely inspect the condition of the carpeting on a weekly basis.
   
8. The quicker a spot is treated, the easier it is to remove. Share spotting procedures with other personnel and make the spotters available to them.
   
9. A pre-spray treatment will emulsify the soils making them easier to clean.
   
10. Avoid over-wetting the carpet and dry it thoroughly. Fans will help.
    
11. Keep scissors available to cut off loose strands.
    
12. Keep traffic off of wet or damp carpeting.
